Aircraft Aquisition

The acquisition is the most important factor in determining whether an investment is going to be successful or not. If one "buys right", 50% of the success is already achieved. Abbotswood Corporation manages all facets of the aircraft acquisition process:

  1. Identification of a suitable aircraft (with or without lease attached) that meets the client's investment criteria and risk/return profile,
  2. Negotiation of Letter of Intent,
  3. Due Diligence (financial, legal, tax and technical),
  4. Negotiation of Final Agreement,
  5. Closing.

The company will either use in-house resources or hire in specific capabilities from its extensive network of subcontractors to cover activities necessary to perform the process at the highest possible standards. All subcontractors the company works with have been "tried and tested" in numerous previous transaction.
Aircraft Deployment

In order for the aircraft to produce attractive returns it needs to be put on lease, perform according to the lease, and kept on lease with as little as downtime as possible. Abbotswood Corporation provides world-class Airline Marketing and Asset Management services to ensure this.

The Airline Marketing is taken care of in-house and can draw the company's extensive network of airline top-management contact worldwide. The company will manage the entire process, from identifying a suitable lessee, negotiation of the leases, due diligence, any aircraft modification necessary, to actual aircraft delivery and lease commencement.

On the asset management side, the company has teamed up with some of the best service providers in the industry. A final selection of the service provider will be made depending on the type of aircraft and its geographical location.
Aircraft Disposition

While most money is made by "buying right", the exit of the aircraft needs to carefully timed and managed to optimise the return for the client. This requires a deep understanding on the aviation industry dynamics and business cycle, as well as an extensive network of potential purchasers.

Over the last 20 years, Abbotswood Corporation executive team has worked through 5 industry cycles from various different positions - manufacturers, leasing companies, banks, etc. - and has a proven track record of making the right calls.

The company has been involved in the exit of close to 100 aircraft to around 40 different parties only in the last 5 years. The vast majority of aircraft generated returns for the company's clients that far exceeded its initial expectations. Until this date Abbotswood Corporation has yet to advise on a transaction that lost money for its client.
